Animal predation and the Predator Principle are not synonyms. Competition is neither rejected in advance nor made the goal; it is assessed by its actual system effects. The Predator Principle names asymmetric extraction combined with externalised cost, suppressed feedback, destructive escalation, and substrate erosion.
